Veronica says: I loved the twists and how he managed to get a complete murder mystery into such a short entry. Kept me guessing.

Veronica says: The situation was unexpected and fun, and I enjoyed the comedic aspects.

Veronica says: Her piece was so evocative and emotional, and I loved the details like the tattoo and the colors of the sky.
I looked out of the window, yet the sky was clear. Instead of the usual brightness though, the world seemed hazy, purple alternating with brimstone yellow, as if the universe hadn’t yet decided on its favorite color.
At work nobody seemed to notice me. Even the landlord looked right through me and shut the door in my face.
Then came the darkness. I blinked again and again, yet all I could see was the tattoo on my arm, with her name on it.
I couldn’t see her, yet I felt her near me.
“You’d really let me fall into that?” I asked.
“Into darkness. Into oblivion.”
She showed me a suicidal note. I recognized my handwriting.
“Man constantly wishes for choice. I realized that the moment you had that tattoo. I couldn’t make such a final decision. Yet you made a step further last night.”
“What’s more final than death?”
“Love could be, if you let it,” I answered.
She slipped through my fingers laughing, the moment I tried to touch her, as if the situation was amusing, or even a joke. As she was disappearing, I wished we could just lay down and laugh together, beating death, defying the rules, us two being the sole proof that love will be the winner of all battles.
It could be. Yet I didn’t let it.
