Siobhan says: Ahahahahaha! We think we're so smart and then we realize what we've been working on so hard is just a prank. This tale really reminds us not to take ourselves quite so seriously and it made me laugh aloud in the quiet of my office. Note to self: leave a time capsule for someone else with a note that says: "Made you look!" Great story.

Siobhan says: I have a soft spot for Silver's Wolves, but what I particularly liked about this tale was Jen's reaction. She didn't just smile and nod when he went from humanoid to canid. Her reaction was what we'd all do when presented with a person we thought we knew turning fuzzy. I liked the blend of reality with fantasy.
Siobhan says: What I liked most about this story was the display of emotions on all the characters involved. Matt's fury, Kailyn's anger and panic, and Amethyst's sugary-sweet corruption that abruptly changes into calculating malice. All wrapped up in less that 250 words. Nicely done.

Siobhan says: What I loved about this tale was the gentle encouragement of Jackson while Lilah felt her way to the truth. I liked the spiritual connection as well as the sweet romance of it. I'm a romance author after all and I love when folks fall in love. Sweet tale.
Lilah suppressed a chuckle. “What the heck does that even mean?”
Jackson stood close enough for her to feel the warmth of his breath against her forehead. “It means you’ve been in the city too long. Concentrate.” He took her hand and squeezed. “What do you hear?”
She pushed away the bass drum of her heart. “The wind.”
There wasn’t a lot out there. “Leaves rustling…”
“Listen harder,” he encouraged.
Liliah relaxed. “Birds. Some voices.”
“And now, what do you smell?”
The longer she stood, the more refined everything felt. The woods around her were alive. She was part of it.
“I smell moss. Water… The lake!”
“Good.” She heard him smile, her eyes still closed. “What else do you smell? Warm asphalt in the sun? Do you know which way the road is?”
Lilah opened her eyes to see Jackson staring down at her, studying. She raised her arm and pointed behind him. “It’s that way.”
“Good.” He brushed a lock of stray hair behind her ear. “What do you feel?”
A flush washed over her face. “Heat,” she confessed.
Air hitched in her throat. “Proximity.”
The moment his lips brushed hers, all her senses vanished. There was only Jackson with her inside the bubble of the moment.
“Now there’s no excuse for you ever to be lost again.”
