Louisa says: This Flash Fiction captured my attention from the start. On the cusp of something so big – the launch of a political campaign – we have Georgie giving it all up. It could be the start of even more: love. But she’s determined to make the sacrifice. Nice glimpse at the turmoil. I’d suggest dropping “cancer.”
Mary Decker | @mishmhem
Louisa says: Subtle and lovely. The ending and realization of this short tale provided chills.
Kelly Heinen | @Aightball
Louisa says: What a sweet story. Most people should be able to relate to that special moment, and missing the person who’s not there to share it. Enjoyed the pacing and syntax – the short sentences/paragraphs followed by the one long paragraph with great details.

Louisa says: The pacing and rich details draw in the reader. There’s immediacy where we’re dropped right into the action. The narrator wants to take this moment. Love the line, “She refused to wipe him from her lips.” And then the slight twist at the end, where she must give up the power. While this scene stands alone, oh yes, I want to see more.
Sophie took a deep breath, grabbed his jaw, and turned him toward her. Sean's dark walnut eyes widened and she stole the moment, heading straight for those perfect plump lips she'd only ever felt the one time last year during New Year's Eve. Neither of them were drunk this time, and she wanted to make sure she was clear. He might not care what came out of her mouth, but she insisted he notice what she intended to do with her mouth.
When their lips touched, he opened up to her, warm, willing, and his scent rocketed straight through her making every inhale sheer pleasure at the musky scent. She groaned into his mouth and his arms folded around her.
He tensed, then pulled her back. "What are you doing?" He blinked.
"Asserting myself." She refused to wipe him from her lips.
He reached out and carefully ran the pad of his thumb along her cheek. Sophie closed her eyes.
"The only way this happens Soph is if it is on my terms." His voice penetrated every nerve ending, enticing.
She didn't know or care what that meant, only nodded. Then he was on her, pinning her to the couch and reclaiming her mouth.
