Paranormal & Dauntless Romance from Siobhan Muir

Snippet Sunday - Secret Admirer

Welcome back to Weird, Wild, & Wicked Tales for Snippet Sunday. It's almost the end of March. Can you believe it's almost Easter? Even better, I have a new release in a box set where you can get 12 tales for $0.99 as of this post. The box set is MAGIC RISING: A PARANORMAL AND FANTASY ROMANCE LIMITED EDITION COLLECTION, but my tale is CLOUDBURST COFFEE & SPA. It's a paranormal romance with BDSM elements set in my little town of Cloudburst, Colorado.

In this snippet, Moira has returned to the Cloudburst Coffee & Spa and she's talking with her friend and business partner, Talia, about a bouquet of flowers that was delivered.

"So, do you have any sexy plans tonight I should know about?" Talia winked as she shoved some of the used coffee litter into the trash.

"No." Moira laughed. "Don't be fooled by the flowers. I don't know who they're from."

"Do you want to catch movie, then? I heard the new Thor is awesome."

"I can't go with you tonight. I have a friend coming over."

"Oh, a friend, huh?"

"Not like that." Moira grimaced. Talia already knew the story. "Aiden showed up today."

"What?" All the humor left Talia's face. "Oh no. No, no, no. You can't do this to yourself, Moira. What is he doing back in town?"

"He said he's here to reclaim his heart and visit family."

"What the hell does that mean?"

Moira shrugged, unwilling to share and endure her friend's derision. "He didn't say. But he wants to spend some time getting to know me better."

Talia's eyes narrowed. "You don't think the flowers are from him, do you?"

"I don't know. Did the guy who came in have any tattoos?"

"No. He was smartly dressed. You know, like a businessman with suit and tie sort of clothes."

"That's definitely not Aiden, then."

"Oooh, a secret admirer." Talia winked. "How exciting."

Moira laughed, but didn't touch the flowers again. They smelled wonderful and looked great, but something about them unsettled her. She closed the door of the office and shoved the eerie feeling aside. They're just flowers. But she couldn't ignore the itching unease between her shoulder blades.

Sounds like he's at least worn her down enough for friendship. ;) There are several great authors on the Weekend Writer Warriors list, the Snippet Sunday Facebook group, and the Rainbow Snippets Facebook group. A few of my favorites are, P.T. Wyant, Karen Michelle Nutt, Veronica Scott, Jessica Subject, J.D. Walker, Addison Albright, and Iris Blobel.

Here's the blurb for CLOUDBURST COFFEE & SPA in the box set:

Moira Callahan knows a thing or two about fresh starts. Second chances are a different story…

As an empath synced into the energies of spaces around her, Moira always understood what people needed, and tried to provide. But after escaping an abusive D/s relationship, she's ready to make her own rules as the owner of the Cloudburst Coffee & Spa. Life is good. Until her first love shows up in town seeking his second chance.

Aiden Westmorland escaped Cloudburst to learn to control his sexual needs, but he left behind the one woman who calmed his statistical empathic abilities. Now he has a chance to rekindle the fire they'd shared as teenagers, with the flavor of BDSM. But earning the trust of an emotionally scarred woman after his long radio silence is easier said than done.

When Moira’s past comes to Cloudburst, threatening the life she’s fought to rebuild, Aiden insists she go to the police. But her former Dom has a past of his own, and he isn’t willing to let go so easily this time....

This title is included in the MAGIC RISING: PARANORMAL AND FANTASY ROMANCE LIMITED EDITION COLLECTION and can be ordered HERE.

What a curious reaction to the flowers. I want to know more.

Hope you have a happy Easter. :)

Oh ... I wonder that it is about the flowers ... and who they're from. Interesting snippet!

It seems rather sad to feel bad about a gift of flowers!

As an asthmatic whose allergies are bothering me, I mentally finished this sentence: "But she couldn't ignore the itching unease . . ." with something about her nose, not her back. ;-)

Well the mysterious sender of the flowers sure has my curiosity up. Really enjoyed the excerpt and how protective her friend is, on the subject of Aiden's return. Great snippet!

Love the name Talia. I'm not liking this secret admirer thing. I Aiden to have sent the flowers. Great snippet.

Never turn your back on your gut. I really hope she keeps her eyes open to that unease, it's warning her of something. Wonder how the flowers are really from then.

Word of Advice
If you want to be a writer, don't think about writing or talk about writing; WRITE. And never give up on the stories.
