Snippet Sunday - An Epic Rebellion

Welcome back to Weird, Wild, & Wicked Tales for Snippet Sunday. It's the end of December and the New Year is right around the corner. I'm ready. I want the new year of 2019 to get a move on because I have big things planned. Like a whole new series filled with snark, humor, and paranormal bikers.

In this snippet, we're in Oriana Hunter's POV (all in first person) and she's dealing with her very flighty friend, Melinda. Melinda is the first to speak. This is the first page, unedited, and Oriana is a former FBI agent, retired for two years though she's only in her thirties.

~~~~~~~
Oriana Hunter
“We’re gonna stage a rebellion.”
“A what?” I looked over at Melinda and wondered what she was going on about.
“A rebellion. It’s gonna be epic.”
I shook my head. Don’t get me wrong. I’d been known to be rebellious. I went out without a bra on because I’d read about these studies that showed boobs were perkier if you left the bra off, and my boobs needed some perky. I didn’t like Miracle Whip, Cool Whip, or Whipped Cream in a can. I refused to keep the tags on my mattresses and pillows, and I only changed my car’s oil every five thousand miles rather than every three thousand. But an epic rebellion?
“Against what?”
“Cocky bikers.”
I rolled my eyes. “Sweet glory. Are you on again with Roy?” Her on-again-off-again relationship with her boyfriend made Jerry Springer’s show look positively tame.
“No, I’m done with him and the Concrete Angels MC, which is why we’re gonna stage the rebellion.”
I sighed and rubbed my forehead. She’d said something to that effect before. I didn’t take her seriously. I couldn’t. Melinda was the type of woman where everything that went wrong turned her into a spitting drama llama. I could barely keep up on the best days. But when she dove into full-on diva screamer, I usually ducked and covered.
~~~~~~~

At least Oriana knows when to get out when the getting's good. ;) There are several great authors on the Weekend Writer Warriors list, the Snippet Sunday Facebook group, and the Rainbow Snippets Facebook group. A few of my favorites are, P.T. Wyant, Karen Michelle Nutt, Veronica Scott, Jessica Subject, Kathy Griffith Karysa Faire, and Iris Blobel.

Here's the blurb for MY FOREVER COCK BIKER ENCOUNTER:

Oriana Hunter

I don’t trust many people, bikers included. Most especially, the bikers from the Concrete Angels Motorcycle Club. But when I’m abducted by my “best friend” to come work for them as a forensic accountant, I don’t have a lot of choice. Hey, at least I got them to sign a contract, and it comes with dental. All I have to do is find out who’s embezzling from them and I can go home. I have far too many demons to be around anyone for very long. It would go a lot faster if I didn’t have a handsome cocky biker hanging around and being nice to me. The question is which folks are worse, those wearing the Concrete Angels’ cuts or the FBI jackets?

Scott Free

Oriana Hunter is the sexiest woman I’ve ever seen walk through the gates of the Concrete Angels’ compound, and she’s badass, through and through. But she doesn’t trust anyone, me especially, and I can recognize the signs of someone dealing with PTSD from my time in the Army. Turns out, she’s a former FBI agent who left the bureau after she was raped, and doesn’t trust bikers or men. Not that I blame her. I wouldn’t trust us either. But I know she’ll figure out our money leak, and quickly. She’s too smart not to. Which means I don’t have a lot of time to prove I’m not what she thinks and convince her to stay.

Coming Jan 15 2019!

Ooh, the book sounds so GOOD! I enjoyed the snippet although I think too much of her friend might make me CRAZY - she sounds so ditzy...but I'm highly intrigued by the book's blurb :)

Yep - adding a flight friend gives the story an edge of craziness.
And hot bikers are fun.

I got a kick out of Oriana's idea of "rebellious."

And I can't wait to hear more about this "epic rebellion" her friend has planned.

Yeah, she's rather straight-laced in her life. Thanks for commenting. P.T. :)
