Back in 2012 I released HER DEVOTED VAMPIRE, my first paranormal romance. I recently received my rights back to it and I re-vamped it (lol) so now it's ready to read. I hope you enjoy the newer version of this tale.
So the snippet: Bridget is dreaming, at least she thinks she is, because the hot guy she met in the coffee shop is acting like he's known her for months. And she's pretty sure that's not the case. Plus she's wearing an emerald green satin dress, and that's so not her usual outfit.
Something wasn’t right. She frowned as she tried to focus her memories. She’d left Snickerdoodles to go home and forgotten her book on the table with Fredrick. When did she make plans to go out with him? I don’t remember meeting him before, but it feels like I’ve known him forever.
“Fredrick, how long have we been together now?”
He glanced at her over his shoulder as he poured coffee into two mugs. “What an odd question, love. We’ve been together for six months.”
Bridget shook her head. No, no, that couldn’t be right. I just met him last night, didn’t I?
“I can’t seem to remember the first time we met.” She closed her eyes and leaned her head back against the chair. “Are you sure it’s been six months?”
Fredrick’s hand settled on her knee, and she cracked her eyes open. He held a cup of coffee out to her, and she worked one hand free of the trench coat to grasp it. Heat seared her palm, and she hissed, adding the other hand on the handle.
“You’re welcome, love.” He watched her drink with his head cocked to one side, a small smile hovering over his lips. “Of course I’m sure. I’d never forget the day we met.”
She sipped her coffee. “Mmm. Tell me what you liked about it.” Maybe it would help her remember it too.
“It was a dark and stormy night…” He waggled his eyebrows.
She almost snorted her coffee. “Yeah, yeah. This is Boston. Most autumn nights are dark and stormy.”
“Very true. But this one was particularly stormy, like your eyes when I frustrate you.” He grinned to show he teased.
It always happens on a dark and stormy night. ;) There are several great authors on the Weekend Writer Warriors list and in the Snippet Sunday Facebook group. A few of my favorites are Charley Descoteaux, Jeff Tsuruoka, Veronica Scott, Gem Sivad, Jessica Subject, and Iris Blobel. Here's the blurb for HER DEVOTED VAMPIRE:
How far would you go to get away?
Bridget Shanahan’s life seems bleak and boring until she gets mugged and abducted from her favorite coffee shop by the sexiest man she’s ever met. Unfortunately, he’s a lunatic who believes he’s some kind of vampire savior surrounded by a security force of werewolves. Worse, he’s determined to keep her.
Fredrick MacGregor has been having visions of this woman in danger for the last six months. A woman he must protect at all costs. However, when he brings her home, she doesn’t believe in vampires or Avatars, and she definitely doesn’t want to stay. But the sense of danger persists and he’ll do anything to keep her safe, even if it costs his own life to preserve hers.
