Part of our reasoning to do this is to bring more attention to the Indie authors we love to read. With so many books out there now it's hard to figure out what is a good, well-written book...or not. Keep in mind, these are our opinions, things we like to read.
Today's offering is RIVER'S EDGE by Gem Sivad. Here's the blurb:
River Prescott has everything she's ever wanted—except perhaps a man. The unconventional ranch owning artist is very certain she doesn't want a husband. But sometimes she can't help wishing for a lover; especially after her new neighbor trespasses and she gets a full frontal view of his assets.
Edge Grayson moves onto the rundown spread he's inherited, expecting to stay aloof from nearby town business. But between local artist, River Prescott's determination to seduce him and protecting her from a killer on the prowl, the ex-gunslinger is finding respectability a lot more dangerous than his former life of sin.
I saw this tale when Gem Sivad was showing it off on Snippet Sunday and I could hardly wait for it to come out. I wasn't disappointed. This is a historical sweeter romance, but there's plenty of drama and suspense to keep the reader engaged. And I loved the interaction between River and Edge. Both of them are snarky, stubborn, and sarcastic, which made their conversations so fun to read. Though there's no explicit sex, I found this story to be so good it didn't need it. I highly recommend this tale and it's the first in a series.
