Part of our reasoning to do this is to bring more attention to the Indie authors we love to read. With so many books out there now it's hard to figure out what is a good, well-written book...or not. Keep in mind, these are our opinions, things we like to read.
Today's offering is MOUNTAIN MAN by Sherilee Gray. Here's the blurb:
Hank Smith saved my life, carrying me through a blizzard to his mountain cabin. He doesn’t like strangers, and he doesn’t like leaving his sanctuary. Now I’m trapped here with him until the snow melts.
I see him looking at me. He tries to hide behind a gruff exterior, but I see the longing and the heat burning in his eyes. I know he wants me, and I can’t resist him. I want to feel those big, rough hands all over my body.
But once he’s unleashed his raw, barely tried desire on me, will I be able to leave my mountain man behind, or will he make me his?
I'm not a fan of first-person narratives unless the author does it right, and boy does Sherilee Gray do it right! This was both a hot and tender romance set in the mountains. I admit being a fan of hairy men, the cover snagged my attention first, but reading the blurb sparked my interest, and I wasn't disappointed. Hank is rough around the edges, but inside he's an amazingly loving person (and a full person rather than a jerk alpha). Birdie was an introvert trying to get out and be more interactive, but isn't prepared for the activity she chooses, which puts her in Hank's world. How they learn from each other and connect was delightful (and hot). Even better? Hank has a twin brother Beau and he gets his own story.
