Mary says: The ending caught me off guard, and brought to mind Poe at his most delightedle twisted. Actions have consequences, as this story well proves. Well done.

Mary says: This story caught my interest immediately and was told almost completely through dialog. This is not an easy thing and you did it well. The playful naughtiness sealed the deal. Bravo!
"Excuse me?" I looked at Eve. I had been avoiding eye contact since the incident yesterday. It was at her suggestion. I was also told to keep my neck covered.
"Did you read the chapter about the turn-ons, Gillian?" Eve crossed her long, shapely legs but didn't move any closer this time. Not after what happened the last time.
"Oh," I said, suddenly remembering that one of the turn-ons was running my fingers through my hair. I immediately stopped. "Yes. I did read that chapter." Twice.
"Well, good," Eve said, stifling a grin. "I know it's difficult to remember them all."
"Can't you control your ... impulses?"
"I prefer to think of them as instincts. Vampires aren't like humans. You can't expect me to be someone I'm not."
"Well, no. But ..."
"Just avoid the turn-ons, okay?"
When I got quiet Eve grinned. "Of course if you want to do them ..."
We looked at each other. "Why don't you answer?"
In an instant she had me pinned to the wall, her lips a hair's breadth from mine. "Blushing is one of the major turn-ons," she whispered.
