Part of our reasoning to do this is I belong to a virtual writing colony known as OpenSim, where we try to bring fiction to virtual life. Nara Malone, Shannan Albright, and I have always wanted to merge the two worlds, virtual users and real world readers. We also want to bring more attention to the Indie authors we love to read. With so many books out there now it's hard to figure out what is a good, well-written book...or not. Keep in mind, these are our opinions, things we like to read. The Nookettes of the Virtual writing colony of Nara's Nook have come up with this blog hop to share our favorites.
Today's offering is A KNIGHT IN COWBOY BOOTS by Suzie Quint. Here's the blurb:
When Zach McKnight, an irresistible oil rig worker with a thick-as-honey Texan drawl, first pokes into the secrets surrounding the mysterious Maddie Wells, he has no idea that the chance encounter will change his life forever. Maddie Wells is on the run with Jesse, the infant son of her murdered sister. The boy’s father isn't far behind. He wants his son and is willing to kill to get him. Zach is intrigued from the first moment he sees the dark haired beauty in a hotel, but getting his hard working hands on her delectable body is more easily dreamt than achieved. He gets shot for his trouble, by Maddie no less, and sucked into the web of lies and fear that are her constant companions.
I ran across this book on Snippet Sunday and fell in love with Ms. Quint's writing voice. But even better you have a guy with a hot Texas drawl and a woman on the run with a big secret. I was hooked - especially when she shoots him within the first three chapters! This is a great romantic suspense with hot Texas cowboys and a very large family with lots of sexy brothers. Seriously, this is a fantastic story and the whole series is wonderful.
